Yeah, Couldn't you put RGB on the edge of the pcb. So that it shines out under the heatsink.

I think the only way RGB would work, if it also came with a blinged out (vomit rainbow) wraith cooler, which they could do. This is a celebratory product release, so why not go a little crazy.

Yeah, no... This is a CPU, not a kid's toy.
Otherwise they might as well make it non-functional so you could put it on a pedestal where it would shine for everyone to see.

Jeeves could you phone the store and request their finest gold components. Little Billy wants to play this mining crafts game and I want him to do it in style.

Haha I kid. This is pretty neat.

I'm sorry but a fancy looking (functional) cpu is a really stupid idea. Not just a little stupid either. It's like full on, someone should be ashamed of themselves, levels of stupid. A cpu HAS to be covered up in order to function properly, there is zero point in making it pretty.

If you want to commemorate an anniversary with a CPU then you should make it non functional and include a serial number and a stand or something to put it on a desk.

I can see why AMD would want to release an anniversary edition right on the anniversary of May 1st, but with this gen being so close to its end it just seems to me like AMD should have instead waited and released an anniversary edition of the Zen2 CPUs in a couple months and just talked about it being the 50th year, rather than exact to the day itself.

Would be fun to have a limited edition of the top Zen2 model that was maybe something like an extra leaky part for going extreme clocks on sub-zero cooling. Or the other way of special binned ones with the lowest leakage of them all for that top air OCing. Maybe this new 7nm process doesnt have much variation though and they cant bin for leakage at all.
Anyone remember that special TWKR edition Phenom X4 they did way back?
