just pull an intel and highly bin a few chips but maybe not so much of a premium. sure, stamp something on the IHS but really need something like those ryzen boxes the first samples were sent out in to reviewers.

so yeah, i vote for a trophy for the show case or wall than an platinum plated RGB IHS.

If you want to commemorate an anniversary with a CPU then you should make it non functional and include a serial number and a stand or something to put it on a desk.
Judging by the popularity of their ryzen coolers amongst their fans I assume they'll bling that out as well.

That short sighted marketing tho...who cares if they go beyond May 1 for Ryzen 3000 for a 50th anniversary product, it has to be a top end Ryzen 3000 processor with the highest number, the demand would skyrock, especially before Ryzen 3000 is about to release, what I missed opportunity from AMD. They could at least brand it 2800x but nope; same almost previous gen product...you basically buy a pseudo collector item that has nothing better than product of the same name. My only hope is that they overclock better (and by better I mean 100-200mhz TOP)

It sounds like a whole lot of nothing to be honest. But if it does manage to hit 4.5Ghz, that gives me hope that the 3000 series will do at least 4.5Ghz to!

That would be pretty awesome, imo. Intel pulled out the old 8086 name, after all.

It is what it is.

They already used the Athlon naming on Ryzen processors. The Athlon 200GE x2 with smt for example.

50th anniversary??
They should just give away 50x 2700x/2800x processors.

That would totally make me want to buy one, maybe even three!
