A bit sad to see that its identical performance wise to the std 2700X.
Even a 100mhz boost would have been great.

pity they could not add 200mhz to the core (more would be even better).
That would atleast have made it a bit special. A 4Ghz with 4.5Ghz boost would have been decent rather than just basically paying a premium for a few goodies and a signature.....

That's one seriously shiny shirt, needs a big gold necklace to go along with it. You could hang the badge from a gold chain, or hang the processor from a chain so that people can actually see that it's limited edition.

I wouldn't mind the shirt. I remember after the Slot A's came out I wrote a thing to AMD and they sent me a nice AMD key chain. I kept that until all the paint etc wore off... plus when his car was in the shop my friend that worked at Intel (lived in Hillsboro, OR at that time) needed to borrow my car. Wasn't overly happy with the key chain... which I understood, but still found amusing.

I see the Radeon VII package as being pretty nice. That seems to be at standard msrp.. I just want a larger upgrade for when I go gpu shopping.

I never win contests so even though I think the "signed" cpu is cool... I'd rather save the $$ and put it toward my 3000 series upgrade. To be honest in the past I probably wouldn't have thought much about spending the money. When Z170 came out as an example I bought a LOT of motherboards I found interesting. I sold or gave away the ones I decided not to use but I certainly wasted more money than this cpu costs... but these days I just don't spend like that on parts.

WHY would they when the specs have not improved??? Nobody clams that this chips is more highly binned. Only that it comes with Lisa Su's autograph and some peripheral schmaltz. It is the old bait and switch marketing game. Better to wait 2 months when Ryzen 3000 series cpus will be available. More bang for the buck.
