It's only the die hard AMD fanboys that feel that way.

You're acting as though everyone that can install a video card knows how to replace their PSU. So now they're going to have to pay some tech $80+ to install a PSU along side the $30-$40 for their 500w PSU.
Talk about splitting hairs! You just found another niche inside a niche!

I wonder if this is the last matryoshka doll or if this damn coin will stop spinning.

The problem with PSU's... Is that everything under 500w is garbage or ugly. I'd love a good 250w-300w.

It seems like everytime i drop a high end 75w gpu into an OEM. The powersupply dies so i have to replace it anyways.

Cards without power connectors are for that niche market. It's a card that performs the same as a GTX 780 without requiring extra power. AMD's card that fit this requirement performs the same as a GTX 660.

I believe it on those cheap Pavilions or Inspirons. I'm installing them into OptiPlex which have decent power supplies.

https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GeForce_GTX_1650_Gaming_X/

MSI Gaming X has a 6 pin power connector and so does Ventus

Aero ITX doesn't: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/Ge...4G-OC/Overview

Asus:
Most offerings have small coolers except Strix lineup with a 6 pin power connector and supposedly aluminum backplate
Phoenix doesn't have a 6 pin connector https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/...-O4G/overview/

EVGA:
https://www.evga.com/articles/01326/...orce-gtx-1650/

EVGA has a metal backplate on theirs (the SC and XC Ultra), it's kind of hilarious they have it on the lowly GTX 1650 but not on the RTX 2060 and GTX 1660 Ti.
I don't understand the logic of having a 3 slot 75W rated TDP card though , even if it has a 6 pin power connector. The SC Ultra is supposedly 2 slots.

Gigabyte:
most of the lineup has 6 pin connectors except the ITX and the 2 fan "OC"
https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Ca...650IXOC-4GD#kf
https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Ca...N1650OC-4GD#kf

Galax:
supposedly 75W: http://www.galax.com/en/graphics-car...x1clickoc.html

IMO the GTX 1660 TI is the best buy at the moment as it has Vega 56 performance and GDDR6. RTX 2070/2060 if you want to buy into the RTX thing.

When I started pc gaming, I was primarily a console gamer and would get a reasonably priced prebuilt with the wife from Walmart or Best Buy for computer stuff. Tried a couple of games on the pc and the motherboard graphics couldn't cut it. Eventually I started getting dgpus I could add to these prebuilts. I got dgpus for 3 very restrictive prebuilts, with the best one being a half height HD7750 before I made my first custom build. That thing was even better than my Xbox360, usually.

A 1650 would have been a windfall for me back then if, like WannaBeOCer said, it was $50 less.

There are probably other people out there who have reasonable budgets and get a family computer that the wife helps pick out. I'm not one of those people anymore, but I do know some. They would be in hot water if they started cutting holes so they could run wires from some non fitting power supply to a gpu too giant to even fit in the case. Should these poor souls be doomed to integrated graphics forever?

Also the 1650 may be the 1050 replacement for laptops. That is a big jump in performance for a laptop that can still look normal and won't start a fire if you leave it with your preteen so they have a little extra to do when grandma is watching them.

Sure there are better deals for different circumstances, like the Fury Nitro I have in the living room that I bought as not working off of ebay for $53 shipped. Just needed a bios flash to get back to full functionality. But that is more niche than any storebought 1650. Even if it is a way better deal. The 1650 is still good for some.

He has not lost that ability when the info is good. The reader needs to take a second to process what is being said and keep an open mind. Still we need to be fair with each other. We are all fans of certain things to a certain extent. However, any hint of shenanigans or fleecing never sits well with me no matter what company. If nothing else WannaBeOCer remains courteous and does not debase or make fun of others. However, people have a view and just talk over each other these days. The ID and the EGO refuse to take a hit.
