[WCCFTECH] AMD Confirms Navi GPU Launching In Q3 2019

Quote:
So AMD has just officially confirmed Navi GPU launching in Q3 2019 (something we have exclusively talked about before) during their earnings call. The Navi GPU is the anxiously anticipated successor to the Vega architecture and has been in the pipeline for quite a few years now. The most likely event for a Q3 launch is Gamescom 2019 from 21 to 24 August (caution: this is just an educated guess, not a sourced comment).

AMD reveals Navi this month and I hope a firm release date.

Successor to Vega? Isn't Navi supposed to replace Polaris?

I think the first Navi launch is midrange, so $ under Vega 7. Notice 'nex gen' in the road map? That might be Navi 2/Vega successor.

Next Gen is exactly what it says, after GCN comes Arcturus. Hopefully that will be AMD's MCM GPU.

I believe it's essentially replacing everything under the Radeon VII until 'big Navi'.

1800X / RX 570 ~ 2500u / Vega 8

Finally. I need a new PC.

"In other comments on their conference call, AMD did say that Navi will be priced lower than the Radeon VII"

I guess we can expect RTX 2060/2070 performance cards for a lower price.

Looks to be mid-range indeed. Pricing will in interesting. A 2070 is selling around $500 and a 2060 around $350 (U.S. prices). Those cards are not selling well. AMD will need to sell under $300, while keeping performance at or above their RTX competition. This is my guess.

I agree with that. RTX 2070 performance for 399$ and RTX 2060 performance for 299$ would be a good place for AMD to start

The 2060 should have really been the 2050 (the 2070 should have been the 2060 etc...) and you would pay $300 for that when the card should have been priced at $120. Come on man! On top of that, you're also encouraging AMD to price their cards like Ngreedia? Come on man!

AMD does not need any encouragement since they are as greedy as Ngreedia and they proved it with the Radeon VII. We are truly our own worst enemy.

Neither RTX or Radeon VII are selling, so there is still hope for these companies to get the message that not everyone is a tool.

AMD is not going to base their prices based on a random guy on the forums. No idea what you are on about. Thinking the RTX 2060 should be 120$ is extremely unreasonable my dude.

I can agree that all RTX cards are generally way overpriced, but you are detached from reality.
