Don't worry, Venezuela's oil is going to pay for it.

What else do you expect from our regressive tax system? 59% of Americans paid more taxes last year while very profitable Amazon not only paid zero taxes but got a $129 million tax refund! And Amazon is not alone with 60 Fortune 500 companies paying no taxes last year. This is the real meaning of MAGA.

Every time someone says "so and so paid no taxes" I'd like to see proof. Did they literally pay NO TAXES at all? Where are your numbers coming from? And resentful MAGA comments are getting tired already. I agree that corporate tax structures are messed up. But no politician is exempt from working with these big companies no matter their political alignment.

What does Trump and Amazon have to do with the Dept. of Energy building an AMD powered exoflop supercomputer?

So 2 most powerful Supercomputer based on Intel CPU/GPU and AMD CPU/GPU coming in 2021 and none of them chose Nvidia GPU's? GL NV shareholders :-).

i am simply (quickly) answering your OT question:

Why Amazon paid no 2018 US federal income tax

btw it been happening for awhile:

This also isn’t exactly a brand-new trend. Companies as diverse as Southwest Airlines and Goldman Sachs have also reported similar benefits in certain years since 2008.

Isn't the economic system based on debt? Doesn't there need to be certain levels of debt for everything to work?

Not pure capitalism though, it's been wrecked by the US government constantly changing the rules in favor of large corporations.

You absolutely do not require any long term debt to survive, either as an individual or as a nation.

*long term is more than a month.

#2 their debt is insane, even for a "diverse field" company. They cannot even afford to service the debt maintenance let alone make an actual dent in the debt itself. - Internet Stranger

Ever heard of the Fortune 500? Fortune has the numbers along with CBS News according to a 10 second search. This tax information is public information.

This is relevant because some want to know who is paying for this tech. It isn't the billionaires.
