Or buy used.
Recently found a used 2080 Ti for $835 (!!!) but in the end decided not to jump on it since it's about $135 more than I'd like to stomach. OTOH there was a guy selling a pre-waterblocked 1080 Ti (this one
) for $475. Only reason I gave that one a pass was because the guy admitted to using it as a mining card for a few months. (he's a respected member on a particular hardware forum so I believe him when he said he took good care of the card; still doesn't make me feel any better about it being used for mining lol) But yeah the way things are going, I think I'm gonna be focusing my attention on the secondhand GPU market from here on out.
Tbh part of my hesitation on pulling the trigger was because this would've purely been a "I want
this" rather than a "I need
this" buy. My 980 Ti is still running like a champ giving me close to 1070 Ti performance, so I'm still comfortably doing 1440p/60 maxed out as long as I don't go nuts with AA. (no need to anyway, SMAA takes care of pretty much everything with a delightfully small penalty)
