True that. If you're chained to the apple ecosystem though, this is a breath of fresh air for a lot of people. Assuming those people didn't want to screw with hackintosh.

This makes me wish AMD would create a 32 core threadripper with a pair of graphics dies on package and get a contract with Apple for it. Far too much software is built around Quicksync and simply doesnt support the AMD version. If Apple were to switch to an AMD processor with built in graphics we would finally see some real adoption of the iGPU video acceleration.

The Vega 2 gpu is full Instinct Mi60 with 64 CU-Nice.

IMO many will go with 3900X/Asrock X570 TB3/Fast Ram/PCIE Gen4 NVME/Radeon VII Hackintosh, at least for the 8~12C Mac Pro alternative.

Thanks, It's crazy that they are asking $6000 for base model with RX580/Xeon 8C/256GB SSD.
Ryzen 3000 Hakintosh all the way.

I wonder how expensive the base model is going to be... I think a consumer/prosumer version would be nice... something with cooling better than the Mac Mini, but still no attached screen and all.
