xmp profile with safe subtimings bring my 2600X to 67ish ns

a tuned 3400 cl14 with optimized subtimings will lend you in 61-62 territory

for 59/60ns you need a 3600 cl14 safe or extreme 3466 cl14 setup

due to temp of my dims while playing in this season I switched back to 3200 cl14 xmp profile, need active cooling on my b-dies to be stable for long game period unfortunately (can get to 48-50c even on this settings...).

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe that Intel beats AMD by 30-50% in basically any gaming benchmarks. In fact, the 9900k doesn't beat AMD by 50% in any benchmark that I can think of. The 9900k is faster sure, but it isn't 50% faster.

The difference between a stock Ryzen 2700x and a 5ghz OC 9900k in farcry 5 @108 0p ultra is 12 fps, or 12.2%. What the hell is intel smoking saying that is wins out by 38%.

Assuming you're running 1080ti's in sli, you're better off just selling them and getting a 2080ti. 2 used 1080ti's just about add up to a new 2080ti as well, so you shouldn't lose money on it.

Less issues, less heat/power, same or better performance.
that 2080ti is still gonna cost you an extra couple hundred with 1080tis hitting $5 and lower quite often now. Whereas 2080ti is sitting @ 1200+tax.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.

My 9900K at 5.4Ghz w/ 1.5v uses 255w with Prime95 AVX.
Calling B/S on that. no chance you ran Prime 95 AVX stable at 5.4 ghz w/ 1.5v without LN2 to keep it cool, or an avx offset of 8 or 10.

Never said it was stable and I can't control AVX offset on my z170 board. It runs at 5.3Ghz with AVX work loads and temperatures were 97-100c on all 8 cores with my 2 360mm rads direct die.

Hi,
What have you ran that has avx in it ?
Only items I've seen lately are R20 cinebench which has no avx
Blender rendering files throw avx post one of those classroom is a good 10 minute test

I run Prime95 to stress AVX stability. Cinebench R20 does use AVX and I can also tell since my CPU runs at 5.3Ghz for the duration of the benchmark. You can also see my 5.3Ghz AVX results here: https://www.overclock.net/forum/21-b...scores-32.html

I see your cinebench runs, but not prime 95. maybe I'm missing it?

It's nitpicky I know, but for whatever reasons, Prime95 just absolutely savages my 7900X

That was in response to @ThrashZone

I can upload some screenshots this afternoon. It doesn't blue screen or crash but a few cores start to throw errors after about 6 minutes. I always delid my Intel CPUs. I forget if it was Steve from Gamernexus or JayzTwoCents but the IHS on the SkyLake-X chips are horribly convex.

Tom's Hardware shows their 9900k pulling 250 Watts (CPU only measurements) under Prime95 AVX @ 5GHz 1.33v:

Quote:
But power becomes more of an issue in some productivity applications because a constant load on all cores at high clock rates is almost too much. And to be clear, the Core i9-9900K gets super hot faced with Prime95 and AVX instructions (205W stock, 250W overclocked), exceeding the specified TDP.

We measured 137W (232W) during the Cinebench test, and we topped 145W (241W overclocked) under the larger Blender workload. We even pushed past 120W (198W overclocked) with various CAD plug-ins for Creo and SolidWorks. The limits of normal all-in-one compact water cooling solutions are in sight during standard operation at 4.7 GHz on all cores, but you can easily overwhelm cheaper AIOs during overclocking.
