Fraud is for sure an exaggeration, right like they advertised 4gb on 970 (theoretically they are there so we provided the card with 4096 kbit of "accessible" memory to the gpu!!!!11!11!!! or fake rops counting on several skus before turing....they are there, not all usable but there are....like I could claim my 2600X is phisycally a 2700X, 2x4 ccix but nevermind that 2 cores are laser cutted, but they are there!!!!)

I would just ask to RTX owners: do you feel that nvidia and their fantastic rt ready games at launch skrewed you up or are you ok with it? You got what you wanted? Your gaming experince changed as expected? Were you at the edge of a revolution in games everytime you started up your RTX gaming rig?

Jeez, to be a pioneer for some multibillion corporate I would prefer wasting money in VR and a pornhub premium vr fee (is it a thing already? lol ) but that's just me.....

The next gpu I'm gonna buy is not for RT performance, summed up in few words.... even if AMD would bring the holy grail of RT grinding card.....

How about I post that demo? Crytek already announced the demo runs faster with nVidia's RT cores.

For starters, the Vega 56 was only rendering the demo at 1080p and 30 FPS, not 4K. Given the demo's 4K option on YouTube, it was perhaps understandable for some confusion to arise.

Crytek says that once RTX support is implemented on the Neon Noir demo, the visuals can be boosted even further, all the way up to full-screen (perhaps black bar-free?) 4K rendering. We don't know what sort of performance RTX cards would allow for, but it should be notably better than what the Vega 56 was capable of considering raw throughput alone.

I'm glad we've gotten to the important bit. We knew you didn't care for nVidia (or anything non-AMD, really), but now we know you also don't care for the biggest revolution in graphics in the last 2 decades.

For all we know it could be quad RTX Titans. How much faster it is on a 2060, for instance? We won't know until they make a game with that tech.

Just because Nvidia marketed the hell out of ray tracing with the RTX series doesn't mean that ray tracing was the reason people bought them. I couldn't care less about ray tracing, it's implementation, or DX12 for that matter.

Are we still doing this meme?

No, it's a 4GB card because it has 4GB of VRAM, full stop. Stupid memory configurations don't change that. It has 4GB of VRAM because the graphics card's circuit board contains 4GB of GDDR5 SDRAM chips there is literally no other criterion for this. Nobody memes on Nvidia for any of the 192-bit Kepler GPUs with stupid configurations. Nobody memes on every OEM PC out there with asymmetric memory. Nobody memes on LGA-3647 server motherboards.

As for the bolded part, no, you can't say that. You know how I know you can't say that? Because Nvidia actually lied about the amount of L2 cache and ROPs that were enabled (due to poor communication rather than maliciousness according to all the evidence I've seen because why would they actively lie about something they could and DID get sued over?) and that's the part they settled over. You can't claim your 2600X is an 8-core CPU because it has 6 active plus 2 lasered off, and we know this because Nvidia would have made that exact argument in court if you could, that they had 56 ROPs enabled plus 8 lasered off and 1.75MiB L2 enabled plus 256KiB lasered off.

Dudes, as a consumer I can just think in the black box style: I don't care what's going on in here, I judge the output.

I don't want to tell other people, nevermind to a enthusiast, what to choose and why, don't get me wrong. My opinions are just mine, and I was telling my pov regarding a gpu market that for same reason got crazy, and what I'm gonna look in the next 5-12-24 months in a gpu I would buy. That' s all......

early adopters will pay the fee and hope they are rewarded from it, while I won't jump on the hype train (black box: 5 years from now for RT going mainstream as someone already stated? wake me up on 2024). Enjoy.

Now all of a sudden since Crytek announced that the RX Vega 56 was only running the demo at 1080p 30 FPS the system they use "could be quad RTX Titans"? Even though we know a RTX 2060 gets 20 FPS @ 1440p and a Titan RTX gets around 46 FPS on Port Royal which is much more intensive than Crytek's mesh tracing.
