but they don't have any analysis in them, they just go with playing games and showing the fps counter.

what i actually need is OC test, performance comparison between stock/OC/2000G-stock/2000G-OC.
then comparing how much better 3000G series scales with faster DRAM and up to how high DRAM can be clocked.

It should be able to run at max speed out of the box, memory will work as is, that's one of the key improvements they made with this release. I'm not quite sure what the other poster is getting at giving us his experiences with Ryzen 1000 and 2000. ? .

I didn't apply the paste, due to blowing my entire budget on cpu/ram/mobo I'm using the stock cooler which had the paste pre applied,I will say the springs on the stock cooler are stiff as hell,I highly advise laying the mobo on a table to put the cooler on.

would be nice to know if OC potential improved a fair bit over the 2000G series, specially DRAM max OC.

on a side note, would a B450 ITX board work just as well with a 3000G series?
I wouldn't count on b450 support for ryzen 3rd gen yet. There are people who can't get msi b450 tomahawk to work with 3600. After reading a review, I had also considered that motherboard which is the only board that supports flashback (bios flashing without cpu) in local stores.

PS: Then again there people who are using 3900x on B350 i.e. from some other forum "Yes, writing from a AB350M Pro4 with a 3900X!"

Word of warning with the MSI X570 Gaming Plus-My Strix 970 covers all the SATA ports when it's plugged in,so if you get one plug in your SATA cables before your gpu.

I'm not Jay's biggest fan admittedly but thought this was pretty good of what i skimmed. Especially since i'm going to have to read up before i OC the 3600x last AMD OC i did was PileDriver.

To recap use the spreading technique for TIM application because of the placement of the dies? That was news to me i've always used the pea method.

Thanks, that's the plan. I was lucky with the p8p67 evo. I had amd 6850 with that board then 280x trix. Didn't really disable sata ports that much. However this time the upper one is directly aligning with the pci slot. Should be ok as long as the height of the sata port allow the card to sit on the pci slot right.

sapphire 280x trix is going from asus to msi

All the info I can find seems to be focused on the igpu, I could care less what the "gaming" performance of the igpu is because I don't plan to game with it. I would rather see a review that covered the cpu portion and overclocking. I don't expect them to be any better with ram than my 2700x is but I am curious to see how they respond to ram and if it's worth getting higher speed ram.

exactly, i don't care much about the game demonstrations they do, i care more about a side-by-side comparison against the older gen.
stock vs stock, OCed vs OCed, DRAM scaling, etc.
