[Corsair] Corsair announces its acquisition of Origin PC

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/compan...ires-origin-pc
CORSAIR, a world leader in high-performance gaming peripherals and enthusiast components, is pleased to announce that it has acquired custom gaming PC leader ORIGIN PC.

NVIDIA > AMD People told me a 7970 to a 770 would be a side grade but after seeing the difference here I believe a 660 wold have been an upgrade over the 7970 . So much smoother no more dropped frames or stutter.

That's bordering on unreadable.

EDIT: Looks like Chrome was murdering the text. Now it looks right after a refresh.

This site has been partially broken for many months now, nothing that surprises me.

Regarding the acquisition, I really wonder why this happened. Origin didn't show any sign of financial trouble AFAIK, seeing as how they charge skyhigh prices for everything on their site.

I've seen a big marketing push lately
They were probably bulking up the value to sell for a decent profit; not because they were struggling
Corsair is continuing all existing operations meaning they were probably operating a decent profit... Corsair just has a desire to be an OEM probably following NZXT/ASUS/MSI

Well the way I see it, Corsair's prebuilts are pretty underwhelming, and Origin, while expensive, has a good foothold in that market. They're also not as big as Cyberpower and others, so snatching them up now isn't a bad choice. Corsair gets a better prebuilt segment, and Origin gets more exposure. It would also be a decent platform for Corsair to sell their waterblocks and whatnot on as well.

Wow, I never saw that coming.
Origin used to be the folks who started Alienware back in the day before they sold to Dell, right?
