8071 Timespy (on par with RTX 2060 OC PRO , slower than RTX 2060 SUPER)
18716 Firestrike (exceeds RTX 2060 OC PRO , slower than RTX 2060 Super)
5313 Firestrike Ultra (exceeds Rtx 2060 Super)
10233 Firestrike Extreme (nearly matches RTX 2060 Super)
4340 Superposition 1080p extreme (slower than RTX 2060)
10330 Superposition 1080p high (slower than RTX 2060)

Idle power is higher than most ; load power below RTX 2060 Gaming OC and Ventus

Load temp 74°C (AIDA64 GPU not gaming)

Dual BIOS, dual fan, factory OC to 1540 MHz for the base clock, 1700 MHz for the game clock, and 1750 MHz, 12 layer PCB, $360 (wow $10 more than reference...)

Reviewer didn't realize Final Fantasy XV benchmark is flawed. RX 5700 is about GTX 1660 at 1080p / GTX 1660 ti at 1440p performance there, which is ridiculous.

Would look into idle power tweaks if I owned it (unless somehow their power delivery is absolutely garbage and using high RDS(on) discrete mosfets). $10 more than reference makes buying the reference blower idiotic.
I mean traditionally people compare say the original product to the one being tested. That 18 core processor is interesting. Graphical scores are also nice to know in a review. Although they seem to lack the CFM of the blower, the extra heat sink surface area\noise should make them a win for most people. I want to see a 100% fan vs 100% fan showddown on the thermals. Hopefully these new cards drive down prices on the reference card for people who want to add in their own custom cooling. That $330 price on Newegg is gone atm. GN as always delivers a good comparison to the blower. XT version but still.

EDIT heres another review

MSI RX 5700 XT Evoke : the color is bound to be polarizing.

It's probably a 4+ heatpipe design.
Testing shown to be 10+°C cooler than the Gigabyte one in Furmark (but that might be reference as it is 94°C):

Tom's Hardware obtained ~75°C on the RX5700XT Pulse with Furmark and merely ~1500RPM

MSI RX 5700 MECH

At least 2 heatpipes on the design

Thicc2:
https://www.computerbase.de/2019-08/...icc2_im_detail

1.162 g
GPU cooling OK : 74°C
memory cooling poor, hits 98°C (same as STRIX in quiet BIOS)
4 heatpipes , fan speed 1850RPM in the test
185W TDP power limit (less than reference , no BIOS switch)

-----
ASUS STRIX korean review has the fan speed at 1900RPM on quiet mode as well
https://quasarzone.co.kr/bbs/board.p...z&wr_id=290568

-----

In summary Sapphire RX 5700XT Pulse is a no-brainer at $10 more than reference (even more so because of replaceable fans). Thicc2 is all hype , there isn't any way STRIX is a good value.

ALSO:
Asrock RX 5700 series is up

RX 5700XT $410+shipping https://www.newegg.com/asrock-radeon...82E16814930020
RX 5700 $360 https://www.newegg.com/asrock-radeon...82E16814930021

No fan stop on MSI MECH and it's a 4 heatpipe design that doesn't mention if the backplate is metal or not. The Evoke didn't have the backplate thermally coupled to the PCB either.

800g per Tech Yes City

Oh my....this is where we have come. Not a 5700 but you can bet something similar is on the way. https://www.techpowerup.com/258741/y...t-out-of-manga

I have to say it seems rather well designed. I wonder if users will name their pets?
