Sorry for misunderstanding you, I didn't realise you are joking as (East) Asian culture is very different from our own (Western).

In five years your 2080Ti will be a low end card, so you will be the one who gets laughed at for spending so much on a card that can't perform as advertised.

I'm fortunate enough to have financial security such that in 5 years I will have long since moved on to something else, but nice try to shame me for enjoying the best consumer card you can get while it's still top dog.

Congratulations for having financial security I guess (entirely irrelevant to me). You can enjoy your purchase however way you like (another irrelevant point). The point is that in five years video cards will have progressed to the point that the performance of your card will be matched by low end cards. It would be a disgrace if this wasn't the case as it would mean there is no more competition or innovation.

Thanks. I don't know what you're getting at? If you'd like to live in fear that eventually your expensive card will be very bad, then you may be in the wrong game. RTX is not catching on as fast as Nvidia would have hoped and AMD put out competitive products that are still popular even without shiny reflections.

TPU isn't a bad source at all. If you search the internet there are more sources highlighting the same article. In Q2, 19 AMD did gain upto 9.5% in the discrete graphics card market segment let alone it's gain in overall graphics card segment.

Can anyone explain the maths behind how they came up with AMD gaining 9.2% discrete, but the corresponding market players didn't lose 9.2%?

The report says shipments and not market share.

#2 their debt is insane, even for a "diverse field" company. They cannot even afford to service the debt maintenance let alone make an actual dent in the debt itself. - Internet Stranger
