It has an Asetek pump and an aluminum radiator. Disappointing if true. Should have gone the Thermalright/Alphacool/Swiftech route with a copper radiator for $150ish , or at least a better pump than Asetek.

Asetek's 6th gen solution is the 670LS (240mm with 27mm thickness). There's a 670LT with a 38mm thickness that is impractical for sale due to case compatibility for mass market.

edit: this 6th gen review is relevant

Despite improving the impeller quality significantly, overall performance remains unchanged at best, if not slightly worse.

While more differentiation can be good it looks like it wouldn't make a big difference on a mainstream platform. Look at how small the differences are on AM4

https://bit-tech.net/reviews/tech/co...u12a-review/2/

I'm sure on HEDT the changes grow with TDP but probably not massively

Same NF-F12 fans the Corsair Hydro Series H100i RGB Platinum is 4°C cooler than Corsair Hydro Series H100i PRO at 1000RPM fan speeds:
https://www.hardwareluxx.de/index.ph...t.html?start=7
Similar case here: https://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/...tinum_review/4

and https://www.kitguru.net/components/c...oler-review/5/

The CoolIt pump seems to work better. (source: https://www.coolitsystems.com/enthusiast/ lists CORSAIR Hydro Series H115i RGB PLATINUM , H100i RGB PLATINUM )

At that price I'd rather buy Drive X3 or Eisbaer.

Patent trolling is when a company only holds a patent without making products. Astek is using the patent system properly, as intended and used by most of the industry. That's like calling AMD and Intel patent trolls

Still, their patent for pump on the block is similar to "rounded corners" nonsense.
