nominal effect and remedied by a microcode update... a lot like AMD's Agesa "updates" wouldn't you agree? Both address processing issues of one type or another.
So, losing performance over time is the new norm for Intel? And I feel this is not the last one, there will be many more to come because these kind of holes are impossible to truly fix without getting rid of flawed Core arch entirely. That's the point here, it's not a routine "errata fix" that apologists try to diminish it to.
If you don't want it, don't buy it 😉

My local Microcenter got rid of their Intel HEDT stock by slashing prices depply. they priced the 10 core 9820x at $350 and the 9900x at $400 2 weeks after I paid $380 for the 9800x. I feel duped. LOL. can't wait for the 10980xe to drop....

No idea what this guy is saying but he is referring to himself or someone else testing a 10980xe with an Asus Rampage VI Encore x299x motherboard.

EDIT: seems to be a motherboard preview/review but he shows screenshots of an actual 10980xe in CPUz and other tools.

Hi,

Everything else is an encore review loaded on the laptop so unless he's got a 10980xe in it it's just fake news in chinese

Yeah it isn't much info if any at all...

I just find myself starved for information about the 10980xe. To be honest there isn't much info going around about Cascade Lake-X. The few 'benchmarks' and comparison that have been 'leaked' have offered not the most reliable results since most, if not all, that i have found have been done with RAM at 2666mhz.

Now that the AMD Ryzen 9 3950x has 'launched'/been reviewed favorably I can see why Intel is 'shy' about Cascade Lake-X and decided to push back/delay the launch. 3950x seems fantastically efficient and cool; clearly a healthy binned processor for which AMD had to delay and wait themselves to deliver on. I find it interesting tho that i really haven't seen any review, or at least most reviews, have failed to meet the advertised boost clock. Granted it is somewhat meaningless as the 3950x exceeds my expectations in terms of efficiency (power>perf ratio). It is a great chip in most metrics and a great value proposition.

Now i have workloads that use AVX-512 so I already made my decision to get the 10980xe, the delay really annoyed me as i was ready with a new EVGA x299 Dark since October. I just want the damn thing to be released already. I don't care about power usage and i love to tinker and i have a full custom water loop waiting for the 10980xe so im hoping to squeeze more performance out of it, hopefully exceeding 10,000pts on cinebench r20. I am well aware that the power usage will be absurd when pushing this chip but thats is the hobby we are in.

Just let me pre-order/buy the damn thing already!
