Coming from a 9980xe, I look forward to the new chip. Happy the price is down to around $1300 CAD.

Happened at the right time for me as well (almost bought a 9940x when it was on sale). Plugging a 10980XE into the Dark definitely makes for an interesting proposition, higher TDP or not. My dual MO-RA3s got that covered.

Price looks good tbh, but I'm pretty sure it'll get beaten by TR3 for workstation loads.

What's the process optimization we're looking at here? Is it on par with 9900K or an older 14nm optimization?

But where's X299"X"? Isn't there a new chipset also bundled with Cascade Lake X?

Was hoping to see the 28 core in the mix. Not to be I guess.

Still thanks to AMD for making Intel break on price finally.

I maybe wrong, but it seems to be using older (Skylake) 14nm process.

Hi,
Have to see what the real prices are but might be worth torturing a 10-14 core doubt I'd do an 18 core seeing the 14 core 9940x core temp spread is total crap 19c doubt these newbie will be better at that rate.

14 core might end up as a okay 10 core
18 core might be an okay 14 core...
