[engadget] Here's everything Microsoft announced at its Surface event

Microsoft held its annual Surface event today, but you definitely couldn't call it a by-the-numbers presentation. The tech veteran unveiled a flood of new devices, and updates to its existing Surface Laptop and Surface Pro lines were really just the start. It also introduced its first ARM-powered Surface Pro, true wireless smart earbuds and not one but two dual-screen devices -- including its first phone in years.
Cool an Android powered Surface phone. Too bad it will be dated once it's out in 2020 since it's rocking a SnapDragon 855.

Make the phone run windows 10x and I'd be interested.
Getting fed up with ms being such a tease with a real windows phone.
First I had a windows mobile phone, then a 7" windows tablet with an atom, then another windows phone, then I got an Android phone for my daughter with an 8core cherry trail, then I got an Android phone and a windows tablet with lte.
Now they release a Microsoft branded Android phone on the same day they release an arm tablet. WTH!

I don't want nothing to do with no Microsoft Android in your face failure of a windows phone.

That book phone thing looks interesting. But its all going to cost big bucks since Surface stuff is overpriced.

The event was what I expected. Except for the news about the Neo & Duo. I'm highly interested in the Neo, but it's still in prototype stage. I'll likely pick up a Surface Pro 7 when it goes on sale to replace my Pixel Slate.

It doesn't have to be dated if the value = price is right. Plenty/majority phones have non top end SoCs and handle everyday tasks fine, but those devices also cost 4x+ less than the current top end mobile phone insanity.

If they were any smaller touch controls would be difficult.

lol!

oh, i missed the feature set. got it.

as to dual screen solutions. Linus and a few other minions have been praising this type of dual screen laptop stuff as the future. I like it. Almost enough to move back to a single device at work. right now I use an i3 hp x360 in meetings, and a fully loaded Zbook @ my desk.

such a shame, i'm a Microsoft hardware fanboy. Even have the Invoke with Cortana.

The Mi 9 Pro is out with SD855 PLUS already, who knows what will be out by the time M$ releases this phone...

In all seriousness, what do people on phones do that always need the latest and greatest mobile processing power? Never understood the fascination with paying ridiculous prices for phones.
