So many white knight corporatism excuses for broken products. "Oh just so you know, QA is hard, you're entitled/ignorant/idealist, no money, no time, please sheeple just beta test our crap for us, we won't survive otherwise because our competitor does it too". It all started with MS after WinMe, their unofficial slogan became "Do it now - fix it later". Under Ballmer MS proved they could release good products day one if they really cared. So the money really isn't the issue, the attitude is. In gaming there's Rockstar, Nintendo, and surprisingly, Ubisoft, who learned from their failures and started to release solid titles without launch trainwrecks. EA, Chinavision and Bethesda can go down for all I care, they're just laundering money through games at this point.

Also how do you think they lowered that power consumption? You think those extra 8 ram dies drew 20w? Console CPUs get remade on newer nodes all the time, along with bug fixes. Not everything goes perfectly.
AKCHUALLY, yes, 8 ram dies DO draw 20W. The power cons of DDR3 per stick was about 2.5W at 1.5V and 1.65V had 3W.
