And I like lots of condiments, messing with my graphics settings and using audio eq. Seems like my way would be harder for purists to accept than the other way around since vanilla is just another setting to enjoy and people should get what they like.
The current freestyle sharpening is too much of a performance hit for me though since I'm already making compromises at 4k and hopefully reshade makes freestyle better and more efficient.

As long as AMD control the console market, and many games are ported for console to PC, nvidia will not be able to take over the ecosystem, because ported games won't be as optimized to nvidia as to AMD, which will still help AMD sell GPUs as long as they drag their feet on the market, trying to play to their strongest current market, which is CPUs.

This is great, i used reshade to have color calibration in games with 3dlut's calibration files.
I stopped playing long ago but i will sure try again.

The MOD + RTX combo looks SIGNIFICANTLY worse than stock. This is a perfect example of how not to use mods. Color is over saturated, too little contrast between objects, shadows completely blotting out details, objects looking cartoonish. My goodness that is bad

OT

Shame this is integrated into Experience, means I'll never touch it with a 40 mile pole.

yep, and nv has allowed this via digital vibrance for ages

If it's yet another let's import more shaders from open source into Freestyle? Then that's pretty much worthless as GFE is still a damn bloat and annoyance to install at all and you kind of need it for some NV features. I think Ansel works in games where it was implemented, without GFE, such as The Witness. But Freestyle is GFE bound, which means it could be an injector just like ReShade and not pure driver level.

Competitive nonsense... really? If you don't expose access to depth buffer or geometry then all you can manipulate is the 2D picture itself aka what you already see on screen, good luck cheating that. Granted there do exist some projects that focus on AI object recognition, training AI models to recognize objects from 2D grabbed images to then autoaim onto them, you will never ever be able to stop that approach without cranking hardware, OS, driver, etc. security up to 111 and not allowing users to do anything, aka you may as well get a console as it would probably be more open than a PC at that point.

Most of the advanced shaders I've seen, that mess in ReShade with depth, vertex shaders, etc. are from the more involved in ReShade development people, so they can also request or code in an access to what data they need for their shader. Some are free, some are beta, some beta paid, ...

Yes and everyone keeps focusing on the colors and saturation and whatever missing the point of my post. I was focusing more on the ability to add ray tracing which I thought was really cool. Yes I know, ray tracing, $1200 for 1080p 60, blah blah, whatever, it's still really cool.

You don't have to use the filters or settings that he used, most of that stuff is adjustable so that it won't be over saturated or cartoony or whatever it is you don't like. That's the point of this, so you can make it look how you want. I personally won't be using it because I too tend to prefer the stock look of most games and never install gfe, but I still think it's cool people now have a built in option if they want it. I'm always a supporter of having more choice

How the heck can you be banned for using injection based software? Moreover, how can it even be detected?

idk how, or why, but its a thing that's most definitely happened in the past.

my guess is it would be an overzealous response to picking up unknown code running?

orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

exploiters lying about why they got banned.

who knows.
