Yes but no one needs that more.
There is nearly no use cases that needs all those PCI lanes so I see nothing more than cores and compute power. Ah, I see even a huge price jump 😁

MSRP is the suggested retail price but it should include a margin for the shop.

if AMD sets the MSRP to $750 and sell the CPU to the shop at $749, the shop clearly must put an higher price.
if no shops have a price of $750 means that AMD is selling its CPU at that price to shops.

this is false advertisement and wrong marketing behavior

Yeah, but not with all core OC to 4.2 or so. That is not easy to cool. But maybe with PBO, you can push an all-core OC while still maintaining a decent single core boost.

As far as gaming, 9900K with OC is like 2% faster but does it really matter anymore? And I own 9900K lol

After all my complaints I will buy a threadripper if I will find it

Is 3600c16 easy to achieve with 8x8GB or 4x16GB kits?

A 3970X at 4.25Ghz/1.27v draws 415w.

Going for that chiller Intel demo'd for their 28-core 5Ghz stage show? You're going to need it to handle the ~700w CPU you plan to run.

It's the only way I can indulge my need for high core count CPUs. I'd go broke otherwise, lmao

That does seem very impressive. However, it'd be interesting to see what "regular" folks get OC'ing the 3970X with AIO coolers or just plain liquid-cooling? The reviews, almost all of them, tested the TR CPUs at stock clocks which makes sense given the primary use case scenarios but as far as enthusiasts are concerned, a 4.5Ghz TR 3970X on all 32-cores would be awesome - especially compared to a 4.8Ghz or 5.0Ghz 10980Xe.

I feel like 4.2 is realistic on water, based on reviews and 3900x/3950x results. 4.5 might need a chiller
