well, I can see it useful for boosting amd discrete mobile gpus which is exactly where amd needs to improve even after these 2 incredible years of catch up with the competition

intel is done
nvidia will be a far more difficult bone to chew but hey, the world is so big ............

aside from power consumption this card is really nothing special, as much as im disappointed that we need to wait like a year + for real competition for 1660ti which i hope 5600xt will be. I guess the Wait For AMDtm will stick here for next iteration of rdna gpus.

It could make a decent mobile gpu for a mid end Ryzen gaming laptop. Looks competitive on perf/power to a Intel/Pascal combo.

Is this card the best NEW AMD card at $200 range? I'm going to be upgrading after xmas, and I currently have a 290 with 144hz/1080p/freesync panel. I want MOAR FRAMES.

You be better off with a 5600xt when it launches or if you can swing it a 5700 non xt. If coming off a 290.

5600 cards will be "1660 super" price - 20$ I presume, so do your math......maybe 5700 non XT will be cheaper at that time and that is a huge increase

I found a used Sapphire 5700 for $275, wasn't all that hard to do. Much bigger upgrade than any of those 56xx or 16xx cards. The XFX reference often goes on sale for $289. For a while it came with a game and xbox pass that you could easily get $30-40 bucks for. I have been surprised at the temps and low noise of the blower card, an overvolt will of course push the temps.

5700/5700XT are just too strong to pass. 5700 on sale will probably render 5600 XT unless its prices $250. Also, people are forgetting Navi has a much better media engine than 2016 Polaris.

Especially after recent drivers have the 5700xt at 2070super level finally.

5700 non xt is not far behind especially if your willing to do some teaking

In canada its about a 160ish price gap between the 2 making the 5700xt a very tempting gpu for 1440p market. I have put 2 already in clients builds so far. Can't recomend nvidia gpu at that price bracket sadly.

Honestly from $275 -$450 I feel like AMD has it locked up. And I will almost always go Nvidia if I can, but this time there wasn't a deal to be had. AMD had performance locked up.
