taking a note from the enthusiast market, yet again. Zero fan spin cases, etc.

Uh... you just described every heatsink in existence? Laptops aren't the only ones that use that method. That's literally how every heatpipe cooler works.

I would love to see some more vapor chamber designs on things that aren't just the enthusiast side of laptops.

its a pull from the article. one of the things highlighted is using the rest of the case, etc.

and i agree. it's coming soon me thinks. Intel's full on with its' temp based boost tech on laptops now.

Depending on whose lap the laptop is resting, using the whole chassis for a heat sink will have a wide variation in effectiveness. Excuse the pun.

To some degree, this has always been a factor in system cooling. Even in a desktop, you get some heat dissipation from the case itself through radiation. The air inside is heated and it transfers heat to the enclosure which then surrenders it to the outside air, assuming the ambient temp is less than that of the interior air.

Isn't that why they advise men to not rest the laptop on their lap? Cause the heat from the casing can cause strong physiological effects.

Laptop is actually a misnomer, they're Notebooks and it is not advised to use them on anyone's lap at all. They shouldn't be used on your lap, on the bed on top of the covers, on carpet, or anything that can block the vents. It's advised to use them on a hard flat surface so the vents can breathe. Aside from the vents, using it on your lap also poses a risk if there is a battery incident (pretty rare I'd say but a risk nonetheless).

Of course people will ignore this advice and do what they want, which is fine. Some notebook are low power enough that it's fine to use them on your lap or whatever. But I have no sympathy for people who send in their notebook with a 25w 6c CPU with a heatsink the size of a pencil for "repair" because it gets too hot to use on their lap.

Well, I wasn't thing of the effect on the user but I get your drift. Maybe a new birth control method as those little swimmers don't like heat.

Trouble is the effect may or may not be permanent. And you likely won't know until you try to start a family.

its about time men get the choice too. the pills can lead to psychological havok, specially when given to youngin's (high school kids, clearly just for the acne!)
