[TechSpot]Intel to introduce advanced cooling solution for laptops at CES 2020

Quote:
Intel at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show next month is expected to unveil an advanced cooling solution that’ll allow notebook computers to better dissipate heat. Thanks to vapor chambers and graphite, systems could run up to 30 percent cooler.

There are lots of good options for desktops. Laptop cooling has been severely neglected for some time now. Aside from Clevo's add more heat pipes philosophy I can't think of any laptops with sufficient cooling for something like an i7-9750H/i7-8750H.

Sure, but I meant from Intel for, uh... their own products. AMD's coolers work reasonably well.

so essentially they're going to finally start using the rest of the system as a heatsink, instead of some tiny lines of "copper" full of "water" woot, I suppose.

taking a note from the enthusiast market, yet again. Zero fan spin cases, etc.

After reading just the first half of the title, I assumed it must be for desktops

Their 10nm chips are pretty bad, throttling so badly they perform worse than the previous generation. Intel definitely need some kind of 'advanced' cooling.

Remember how great Intel's 10nm was supposed to be? Funny stuff.
