This is what should have come out a few years ago instead of the small 27" versions. Even last year I would have been all over this monitor. But with the 48CX OLED coming out this year, interest in these expensive FALD monitors has surely waned. And the 48CX will probably only be slightly more than 1/3rd the cost...

Waited on 4K 32” 144Hz for what seems like forever and as soon as soon as it’s available LG has a 48” OLED. 48” is too big. But if that’s it’s only fault then it seems I’m done with monitors. I don’t think marketing will allow the 48 to be more expensive than the 55. We could be looking at the 48 for ~$1k this year.

Initially yes. By the time 3080 Ti and Navi2 are out it should be same price.

I have just the wall to mount it on, if it drops before I move, and is well enough priced.

if its still a TV, it'll be priced less.

if its a "monitor" it'll be priced 2x.

It's a TV and I saw the C9 for like $1300 in November. Makes these monitor's prices silly for my purposes.

EDIT: Yep, wall mount.

I would have liked to see this come out in at least a 40". Will be interesting to see reviews on this thing though. I don't think I'll bite on this one unless it is outstanding in every respect and there are no other decent options. I've been very close to pulling the trigger on the LG 38GL950G-B several times. At this point I'm just gonna wait for OLED options.

This is exactly the monitor I have wanted for years, but that pricing is ludicrous.

I have an Acer XB321HK 32" - this was their old 4k 32" panel (60hz gsync...) from several years ago. It is a good screen, build quality is good (but not great), and it has weird quirks. Decent quality and quirks is not the sort of track record you need for potential buyers to opt in at 3.5k

yep, C9 dips to $1299 regularly. My trigger pull is if it goes lower.

quirks on high end monitors has been quite common recently. Folks with LG's newest hotness having flicker issues is the most recent one i saw.

Hell, I cycled 3x predators when they first dropped due to "issues" and "quirks" amazon still thinks I was trying to scam them outta 2 months of free monitor use.
