[notebookcheck.net]NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super-Max-Q and Core i9-10980HK appear

Quote:
A Geekbench result showing the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super Max-Q's OpenCL score has surfaced confirming our earlier exclusive report about NVIDIA's plans of bringing the new RTX 20-series Super GPUS in Max-Q versions for laptops. We also see the upcoming 10th generation Intel Core i9-10980HK in this listing showing a maximum boost frequency of 4.92 GHz.

Hopefully the core i9's will cost less, or make a nice 6C/12T chip

RTX for laptops? Sounds like a bad idea considering how bad RTX performance is on desktops.

NB market already have similar to the 2080 Super MAX-Q (3072 core), it's called the RTX Quadro 5000 (3072 core, 2x memory size)

Supporting it is step one. Having the user enable or disable is up to them. Another thing to note is that its not just games that can utilize RTX. While working at HP testing software/hardware, I noticed some of the notebook models had 'Mobile Workstations' written on them. Those were always the powerhouse machines, CRAZY amounts of ram, high end CPUs, discrete graphics cards... they really were high end machines. The machines can operate in a low power mode when on the battery, but in reality these machines are made so that i can take my computer from the office to my home, or to a clients location and still have a powerful system. So, sure 10k on a notebook will net you a 3k machine, but that 10k notebook is a lot easier to move. So, bad RTX performance is still performance above previous generations and thats a step up regardless.

A gaming laptop would surpass that "mobile workstation" due to better cooling and whatnot.

Blender support RTX for rendering, so I think RTX for laptops is an god idea

I know Razer's Blade 15 has the option for the RTX 5000 (Quadro Series), I know a few visual media creators have been using them and reviewing them (Peter Mckinnon was one of the ones I know of).
