[AnandTech] Intel Q4 FY 2019 Results: Record Quarter, Record Year

Source: https://www.anandtech.com/show/15433...er-record-year

Quote:
Today Intel announced their earnings for the fourth quarter of their 2019 fiscal year. In terms of revenue, Intel had their highest ever Q4 revenue, coming in at $20.2 billion, and the full 2019 fiscal year, which was $72 billion. On a year-over-year basis, the results were up 8% and 2% respectively. Intel’s margins did slip a bit though, falling 1.4% to 58.8% of revenue. Operating income for the quarter was $6.8 billion, up 9% from last year, and net income was up 33% to $6.9 billion. This resulted in earnings-per-share of $1.58, up 40% from a year ago.

Not what I would have expected. I would be curious to see a more detailed earnings breakdown. Which products or segments most account for the growth?

this story made the local talk radio news even. I guess everyone was expecting guh. Why tho? They've been telling everyone they're MORE THAN JUST A CPU FIRM! for awhile now.

Best R0ach Quote of all time : TLDR: Haswell might be the last legit gaming platform unless mice get their own non-USB interface on some newer architecture.

Well according to Intel's website, their products aren't anything we haven't already heard of.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us.../overview.html

They are a leader in flash storage. Seems odd with a 14nm storage and a lack luster 10nm refresh on mobile that they would have record setting growth. And of course, AMD's EPYC platform is simply superior to Intel's Xeon at the moment - if for no other reason than PCIE 4 and greater CPU density.

Still, the numbers are the numbers. Any anticipation of Intel's decline it would seem are (at least for the time being) completely unfounded.

more are than aren't these days. It's all up to interpretation once budgets get to certain sizes

(my old man was a life long C level CPA. He's tenured resignation multiple times over requests to swing things in favor of the company)

want an example? check out ticker PN (patriot national) epic story of what happens when you go too fast, n set the oven too hot.

Can't imagine them cooking their books any more than any other company.
