If your viewing distance from a monitor is 1m at 50" ultrawide you'd need 100" at 2m. Do the math.

It's no different than watching a movie on a TV, assuming the movie is 21:9. Last time I watched a movie on my TV, it was fine.

The point is, you can sit closer or further to get the same viewing angles you would have by being closer to a smaller monitor. There is nothing stopping anyone from doing that in the physical world of this reality and your argument is entirely baseless for that reason. Objects can be moved in the physical 3D world. Positions are not static.

O. M. G.... Has OCN came to this?

Ok back on topic, this is really cool if it will. I have been saying for years that I wish consoles would support multiple resolutions. That and support Mouse/Keyboard.

Exactly right. And anyone with a phone or small laptop can test how far that tiny screen has to be from their eyes to seem the same size as that 65" tv all of the way across the room. Would you call a 14" laptop at arms length immersive? How about that phone that can completely block out that 65"?

Nobody is telling you that you have to play with a console on the couch in the living room with a bag of doritos and a 2 liter of mountain dew.
Samsung is probably looking at more potential customers for specialty monitors and it shouldn't be hard to add some resolutions to accommodate that.
More choices are good.

Are PC gamers with ultrawides even going to buy the new Xbox given MS new direction and putting their games on PC?
Id love to see the PS5 support more resolutions and aspect ratios.. but thats cause Im about to get an ultrawide. Though I do wonder how many people there actually are that hook their consoles up to their PC monitors instead of a TV.

Only if you replace the 2 liters of Mountain Dew with Mountain Dew: Code Red.

Code Red is awesome, but Cheerwine is the best...but I only know of it being sold in the Carolina's. Paying triple the price for it on Amazon is also an option.

There's some weird kind of furniture store that sells them in central WI. Looks like the only place within 75 miles. You can only buy them in store. If I dash out of work and completely disregard the speed limit I may be able to get some tomorrow night.

Never tried it, but it looks like I have been missing out.
