In the Radeon VII, are they using 2 8gb stacks at 512mb/s bandwidth then, to get overall bandwidth of 1tb/s?

The Radeon VII uses four 4GB stacks.

I'm excited for the new nVidia Tesla!

Interesting! I guess I need to read more about it all. HBM seems to have great potential even if the GPU power isn't really there to fully use its power yet.

Aside from GPU memory size, memory bandwidth is one of the largest bottlenecks for AI training. I wouldn't be shocked if the next Tesla GPU utilizes it. It's supposedly releasing this summer.

Thanks for the info! I see you have a Radeon VII, I'm currently looking to buy a RVII now, but we'll see. Though this new Samsung HBM2e will kick the snot out of the stuff in the RVII.

By buying a nVidia Tesla or an AMD Instinct card. AMD already announced they won't be using HBM for their future gaming cards.

that's my expectation with this timing. Legit tidbits are finally coming that'll allow us to piece together what's dropping in 2020

n memory bandwidth is the limitation @ high res gaming too.

If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.
Best R0ach Quote of all time : TLDR: Haswell might be the last legit gaming platform unless mice get their own non-USB interface on some newer architecture.
