[AnandTech] Samsung Announces The Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra: 120Hz, 5G, Huge Batteries, Crazy Cameras and $$$

Source: https://www.anandtech.com/show/15482...-and-s20-ultra

Quote:
The year is 2020. The 20’s are back (we’ll see if they’ll be roaring or not), and not only is it a new decade, but it’s also time for a new enumeration scheme for Samsung’s newest Galaxy S devices; Today Samsung is announcing the new Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra flagship phones. The new phones have some similarities in the external design to last year’s S10 line-up and a clearly a successor – but in terms of specifications and hardware capabilities, it’s one of Samsung’s largest ever updates.

The new trio of devices shake things up again compared to what we’ve seen in last year, and there’s a different positioning at the low- and high-end of the series. The S20 and S20+ are relatively straightforward successors to the S10 and S10+, however the lower end S10e sees no continuation, with Samsung instead opting for a super-high-end premium model in the form of the S20 Ultra – a literal behemoth of a phone.
Amazing specs but I'm going to bypass it. I do not need a great camera.

2020 is the year of dumb names, also clearly definitely didn't copy the iPhone 11 Pro design. Nope not at all. Samsung always leads in designs and never copies.

Their phones have been pretty boring these last few years. I guess they are waiting for others to do it first. So they can call it their own. Like apple seems to do.

I wish someone would make a smaller flagship. I miss my OnePlus5.

At least the "one up war" that phone manufacturers are going for now are going for useful features, like better cameras instead of useless nonsense like who can make the thinnest phone.

It's a shame Samsung have the best hardware for cameras now, their software is garbage. It always over-sharpens the image and always has the colour saturation way too high.

Looks like they copied Lenovo's Razr. It's called the Galaxy Z Flip.

Samsung wants 1400 US dollars for their newest foldable phone. This company can eat my ****. They are slowly but surely turning into Apple.

Slowly? They've been the same price or more expensive than the Apple equivalent since the S6, 5 years ago.

No, it's not. Android is horribly optimized compared to iOS. Samsung phones may have twice/thrice the raw power but in the real world they're pretty much the same or worse.
