With the HD 5000 series they fixed it with a driver update 6 months later. I ended up selling my cards and buying a GTX 470.

I made the same switch because I was told by OCN from 5850 > 470 and was in my experience the worse sidegrade ever.

Sounds just like the ATI days of the mid-90's in Windows 3.1.

They bundled a freaking RAT in with the driver you have to have to run the thing after spending hundreds of dollars on their product. I'm mad.
If they don't have a non-invasive working driver within 1 month, I'll be getting a 2070 or 2080, not playing this game.

Somebody needs to be fired at AMD.

5700xt in my dads PC which was a fresh build only once had an issue. Would crash numerous times after months of usage with no problems and lock up games for no reason.

A quick DDU and fresh install and never had a problem again since.

This is a pity and in the long run is bad for radeon group. Even worse it is bad for PC gaming as a whole as it only fuels Ngreedia and will causes even more lack of competition in the gpu space.

I tell then what..

Then AMD's Trojan-ass drivers are still paging your CPU every 100th of a second or so. Stealing clock cycles so they can datamine you.
That is such BS it's not even funny. I stopped that crap from running and kept the driver going, but that crap is just seriously WRONG.

I wonder how many issues exist for people who disable windows drivers updates, do their own fresh driver install, or use the DDU if they encounter problems.
I suspect most issues happen with windows driver updates.

Would love to know a bit more about why Micron ram is inferior....
