Very interesting. Something I need to look out for. I have an 5700XT and haven't noticed anything (expected as I'm not actually gaming with it). I have one of the 2080TI with micron memory (first one got space invaders, 2nd one has been functional though again i've maybe game 10-15hours on it).

I suspect most issues happen with windows driver updates.

Would love to know a bit more about why Micron ram is inferior....
1) You have issues that are caused by bad driver installs/old windows/windows updates.
2) There are genuine AMD drivers issues
3) There are genuine AMD hw/fw issues
4) There are Windows changes from Windows that break AMD driver that would require a change from both MS/AMD.
5) There are issues caused by other components.
6) There are issues caused by overclocking/tuning.

I can't believe this is actually a thing.

I have had the driver crash multiple times on several AMD GPUs over the years and I always blamed it on the overclock. R9-285, RX470, RX580 all did/do this. I never have crashes when they aren't overclocked. I personally would rather have the driver crash than the computer freeze up or BSOD.

Well if you have never had a driver crash without being over clocked then I can understand why you wouldn't believe this is "a thing". You are in the .01% of users who have never had a driver crash for some reason other than over clocking.

Honestly not sure what these issues are. Been running 5700 XT for two months now and everything has been fine. Guess it was just the drivers before December then?

DDR2 Frequency 1st Place = 910.1MHz DDR (1820.2MHz) - http://hwbot.org/submission/3589779

Reference Frequency 10th Place = 711.18MHz - https://hwbot.org/submission/3978447_

While i'm in no way shape or form attempting to say there is no issue with AMD drivers (driver issues are an AMD hallmark) but at the same time, I wonder how many of the affected are on water stamped Win10, AND 1,000 years outta date.

Best R0ach Quote of all time : TLDR: Haswell might be the last legit gaming platform unless mice get their own non-USB interface on some newer architecture.

I mean...They will fix it eventually they always do. This is why I'm not quick to be an early adopter. Well that and no money.

I returned my reference 5700 XT for driver issues, so they aren't immune either.

Glad someone remembers... lol

I got blasted...

I have a big bang house. I had all the materials for my new house brought in and dumped on a vacant lot. I took a stick of dynamite, lit the fuse on fire and tossed it into the pile of materials. BOOM went the explosion and when the dust settled I had a new house! Amazing isn't it?

That's good question. The only things that keeps me with Windows is gaming but I have always wanted to move over to Linuix variants. Even more so since lot of articles showing up how the newest CPUs and NVME actually perform better in Linuix compared to Windows.
