[Digital Foundry]Hands-on with Xbox Series X

Edit: New related video

Second video shows Gears 5 running equivalently to a 3700X and 2080 system.. from a 2 week quick and dirty port.
I knew to expect it but it still hurts.

There's coffee in that nebula.

epic.

find it hard to believe its a $500-$600 box. guess we'll see.

either way, i'm stoked for this next gen. Where we at now, console gen #8? By 10 gaming PC & console will be one in the same with a custom gaming OS from MS. (win10 segmentation & modularity is coming)

Add me on Steam, same name

the catch is, this is the premium model, for $999.

i guesse maybe not, since 2080 is last year performance for over taxed NV pricing, and they're mass produced... that would then leave room for an even better model, since multi-sku is definitely coming back.

we'll see.

i'm all about it, once it gets it cracked.

only way i'm buying a console is if they release one that hangs with my current 2080ti/9700k PC.

The 2080 is also a 545mm2 die, this is a Zen 2 CPU and GPU in a 360mm2 total die. The GPU musn't be much bigger than a 5700XT, if not the same size yet its 56CUs(52 active) I think the real takeaway is AMD is making serious leaps in its architecture and RDNA 2 is going to be pretty neat.
This convinces me that the "2080ti killer" must exist after all and that they may actually even be prepared for the 3000 series. I've been sure they'd be their same old useless selves and release a slightly slower 2080ti competitor right before the 3080ti drops.

if you pause the video at 27:12 you can see the entire assembly with the fan at the top

There is no way this will be $1,000 US dollars. Most people would not buy it. especially with the way the global economy most likely will be come the end of this year
