Edit: I'm not sure which CPU is better suited to 4k comparing render and memory configs. XSX has fewer shading units and TMUs, but more ROPs and 560GB/s on a 320bit bus, while the PS5 has 448GB/s on a 256bit bus.
"Die Size 505 mm²"
100% not happening.
We already know the Series X total die is 360mm2 with CPU. We know its GPU is 56CUs with 52 active, 4 disabled. 60 CUs wouldn't require basically doubling the GPU size. In fact i doubt they're using a 60CU GPU.. i'd be willing to bet the Series X GPU has been cut from a 56CU part because that's what Sony is using.
Performance is going to be a wash, Sony will opt for a slightly lower clock or lower memory bus.. but it would be very surprising if the GPU isn't the same.

Edit: Well I was pretty wrong about performance, its lower.

Everyone's freaking out buying all the toilet paper and im here just like "i hope i get this corona thing and i hope it kills me"

Well in a little under 2 hours we will know for sure, but I too expect series X and PS5 to have the same underlying GPU and probably the same CPU this generation as well just like the start of last gen.

Not very exciting, but at least the guy is very well spoken. I feel like I'm watching a PBS documentary ahhaha.

I'm disappointed a bit with the PS5's specs, but more that such a powerful machine won't at least BC with PS1/2 games through emulation because it can certainly handle that.

Can anyone explain to me why MSI needs our laptops back on top of the wholesale price they're already more or less recouping from us with their GT72(s)/GT80(s) trade in program? MSI isn't a company you can trust!

Seems Series X is a bit more powerful. Anywhere from 15-20% but the massive clock speeds of the PS5 might make it more powerful than it lets on.

10.28 RDNA2 PS5 vs 12 RDNA2 Series X.

I am thinking that it will come in at a cheaper price than the series x... they will probably release a pro variant later just like the ps4 generation.

3rd party Xbox will win. 20% os much considering OneX was 50% faster than PS4 Pro.

I am more interested in Sonys 1st party game utilizing all the new Tech.

Clock speed is taken into consideration in TFlop calculation. So if they say high clocks and then say 10.2TFlop, we know that it gets that theoretical performance at the high clocks already.

PS5 has pretty sad specs compared to Series X. Lower CPU speed, and variable speed instead of consistent performance. Less compute units in the GPU. Higher GPU core speed, but again is variable so the max boost is higher but we dont know the average speed we will get with full shader core loading. So much for PS5 being the clear winner this time around.

I'm more excited about what these consoles show for how RDNA 2 is shaping up.
"we had to cap GPU frequency to 2.23ghz" says a lot I think.

And I mean 52 CUs at 1.8ghz in a power and thermal envelope fit for a console, that surely indicates a pretty substantial leap in power efficiency and scaling over first gen RDNA.
Is this potentially AMD's "Pascal" moment?
