Welp, here's what you want to see:

Basically a no brainer if you ask me.

If you are buying a laptop for video editing this is a no brainier. I think if you pair it with a 1650 max Q or better it is very competitive for gaming.

The APU performance is also really good. Intel's new iris graphics aren't even close. It got as much as half the performance of the mobile GPU, which is also very decent. Good enough for e sports titles I would say.

I am curious to see what the desktop APU variance will be like, ala 4400g.

Yeah the APU perf is very good. MX cards are pointless now.

As for the desktop version? Well we had Ryzen 5 1400 (4C/8T) and we got Ryzen 5 2400G (4C/8T)
Not these Zen2 APUs go up to 8C/16T so we might see Ryzen 7 4700G.
Would be interesting how they perform for gaming vs 3700X since they have less L3 but they have don't have I/O which would reduce latency.

What if I play Adobe Photoshop and 7-zip exclusively? The other games suck, IMO.

A more glowing review from Linus:

Looks like a better skew from Asus. Battery life in particular is a strong point.

My thoughts exactly..

Plus, the new APUs have 3200GHz ram, which ryzen do like, instead of 2666 from intel..

..Tho they lack in latency

For graphics performance throughput is more important than latency. Zen 2 benefits from both.

If overclockable, that memory is likely good for CAS 20 or better. A mediocre desktop memory kit can do CAS 19.

Well,we shall see what intel has to offer on Q2,but as Linus said it's the first time there is competition in the high end laptop scene...

And that is always good,in my book at least

Oh yeah now things are getting interesting. Wonder if these will have similar heat issues in real world use like their Intel competitor parts do.
