That attachment isn't working for me, BTW. Is compiling from source typical for updating Gentoo? I've never tried Gentoo; only Arch, Fedora, and various Ubuntu variants.
I think I fixed the attachment. Yes compiling from source is typical on Gentoo, there are no binaries. Just like everything from the AUR on Arch is compiled from source but in Gentoo you can add and remove features during compile time with USE Flags.

EA hasn't shared any concrete details about the new Battlefield game, but it did tease that the title will be "targeting new innovation that will be enabled by next-gen platforms."

By the time that this new Battlefield game releases in 2021, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be on the market, so you can probably expect it to launch on those consoles, as well as PC.

Other then using 8 core, hitting 120 Hz/FPS and decreased load times I see this being more open world and bandwidth sensitive. Developers aren't wasting now time taking "advantage" of the next gen console's strengths.

If developers target the next gen consoles wouldn't that mean abandoning the large base of installed Xbox One and PS4 users?

Well, that goes back to something I mentioned earlier.
A. Developers will have the time and resources
B. They don't and will roll with it.

In the case of Dice it depends on EA. Lol, good luck with that. They made it clear that they won't release new games for 1 year after next gen for that very reason IMO.
