[Anandtech]AMD Ryzen 3 3300X and Ryzen 3 3100: New Low Cost Quad-Core Zen 2 Processors From $99

Quote:
If one were critiquing AMD’s current line of Zen 2 processors, one of the things to note is that the cheapest option is $199, for the six-core Ryzen 5 3600. This puts the latest hardware from AMD out of reach for anyone building a gaming $900 system or below. In order to redress this balance, AMD is set to launch two new quad core designs in May, starting at $99. The new Ryzen 3 hardware will each feature one Zen 2 core chiplet, run at up to 4.3 GHz, and offer PCIe 4.0 connectivity.

And adding a bit more to this with info on the B550 chipset, this article from engadget sounds promising.

Quote:
There’s good news even if you aren’t building a PC on a budget. AMD is trotting out a B550 chipset that promises mainstream motherboards with PCI Express 4.0. You won’t have to buy a pricier X570 board or a custom-integrated PC to take advantage of that doubled bandwidth for your next video card or solid-state drive. Unfortunately, you’ll have to be patient. The first motherboards from ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI and others won’t arrive until June 16th. If you can be patient, though, you might get to build a low-cost desktop that’s still reasonably future-proof.

Well the releases are staggered with the high end products always coming first. The 4800H mobile APU was just released which means the 4200G & 4400G are next in line.

The 4800H is a 7nm 8 core/16 thread chiplet design with onboard graphics. Which does bode quite well for the idea of a 6 core or better APU; though more than likely we are going to see 4c/8t Ryzen 3 4200G - 6c/12t Ryzen 5 4400G - 8c/16t Ryzen 7 4600G.

The chiplet design opens up a ton of possibilities for AMD with the APU market and that's something they are primed and able to jump on - Intel has some neat options we see put into the NUC's, but AMD is where we are seeing the large volume of sales from people wanting strong integrated graphics.

I would love a 4c chip with a gpu taking the rest of the chip instead, for an ultrabook that would be insane for e-sport titles on the go.

The 2200 or 3200G are perfect for most people as they don't play high end games or with high settings. And the 3000G is good enough for an office machine, it's cheap and has everything that an office machine would need.
