What is going on here? It's good to keep one of those 1200s around, just in case a BIOS isn't updated or something.

Will it compete with a 6700K? No.

Would it run most heavy-duty games OK? I think it would.

6700K gets like 580 in cpu-z single thread bench when OC'd.

Well, with a lil trickery. Somehow Intel lets 2 cores boost like 200 Mhz higher.

This will probably land somewhere near a stock speed 6700K's single and multi core performance. The 6700K has HT which does complicate things for a direct comparison, but these 12nm chips are showing us strong single threaded performance and there's no reason to think this won't.

There were already posts in the thread by other people so it would get confusing if I added a new article mid thread. Also I'm not a moderator and can't do a proper merge.

Germany yet awaits them to be released
While Austria already has it
I'll try to get one 1200 12nm in about 7-10 days to revive my PC

It's pure 12nm, no zen 2 cores no zen 2 imc (well kinda)
Wish it has SMT, but then it would be not 55€ for example but 80-90€ soo it's not an option

Well looking that the 3100/3300X will be between 100-125$ soo about 100€ = double the price for SMT
When i get it, i'll see if 3734/3800MT/s runs and if PBO can have the same 4.3 boost effect like on remain 12nm parts
Sadly it's no APU but it's cheap, soo it should be fine

Interesting...so where would you rank this 1200 among the Ryzen offer?

Honestly, it's a bit expensive ~ like it've been mentioned 1 page back

But then comparing 4c/8t APUs near the 100 range is a bit too much
Given that i likely would've to delid them
This one would only need lapping , but the stock cooler is bad too

I think it's fine how it's priced right now, at least in Europe
55€ for a 12nm quad core is alright, over 55 is too much
soo about 60$ would be expected pricing as central europe still has to pay tax

Given the eta pricing that the new 3100 would cost 100$
The linked prices before mentioning 70$ are far too much
near the 60s range would be reasonable
Although i'd prefer it to cost 45€/50$ where with tax you end up near 60$

Will see how it OC's
My goal is 900cb R15 and at least 3733MT/s Memory ~ 1866 FCLK
I'm more tempted to check how PBO behaves and if it needs a cpuid/microcode convert in order for PBO to work as it should (4.3 boost)

4670k on ebay about $80 right now - for no good reason apparently. Newegg should advertise these 1200s on that search.
There are people who are on such a tight budget that they cannot spend more than a certain amount of money. $55 for a quad core CPU is a VERY good deal, even if spending $30 more means you more than double your firepower with the 1600 AF. I've been there, where another five bucks is a deal breaker, so... this is absolutely a wonderful deal.

Nowadays, here in Europe, the 1600AF is no more available unless you are willing to spend about 120 euros.

Yep 100€ in germany and austria
kinda sad that APUs are "expensive" for this price range
the 1200AF should be under 50 not more to compete
After all the 3100 would be near 100€

Right, CPU + delivery and you are about 120 euros.
A worthy heir of the 1600AF? The 1200AF I think is really underperforming compared to the 1600AF, isn't it?

The 1200 AF isn't a replacement or heir to the 1600 AF - They're being sold along side each other as options with different prices. The 1600 AF is almost always going to be superior choice, unless you are designing an ultra low power system where the slightly lesser power consumption would matter.

Also the new Ryzen 3100 looks to be a better performer in games than the 1600 AF at the around $100 price point. And that is a 4c/8t 7nm CPU.
