not really surprising since at best, mid range was going to start dropping this summer. covid has delayed all not-in-production things by at least 90 days. so that puts 3080ti squarely this time next year.

meh.

Best R0ach Quote of all time : TLDR: Haswell might be the last legit gaming platform unless mice get their own non-USB interface on some newer architecture.

Nvidia is in no rush to release a new architecture gaming card series. TU102 & TU104 are still the fastest gaming cards out with no real competition in those segments from AMD at the high end and should continue to remain this way for at least another year.

Nvidia will continue to reap revenue off of Turning for a bit longer before releasing a new gaming series\archatecture as this new release will cause the Turing line to start getting discounted.

End of this year soft launch with good availability in Q1-Q2 of next year sounds about right for Nvidia to milk the Turing chips\cards.........

What led people to expect the GeForce cards would be announced at GTC? Nvidias announcement about the GTC keynote stated that it was for the pro stuff.

Broken Hearts? Paradise Lost.
If I recall correctly we (as a community) did discuss a few months back that Nvidia would announce Prosumer sku's 1st then Gaming. Not sure why some thought otherwise.
Hmm, I also recall discussing that the release dates were delayed do to Samsung Manufacturing issues as well.

because people don't read, and just go "REEEEE 3080TI IN SUMMER!" just so in summer they can go "REEE NO 3080TI, BOO NV!"

add 90 days onto "summer" post covid insanity.
