My stance still stands. I'm a PC Master Race at heart but my brain knows what direction is market is moving in. I just hope my wallet can keep up with my exponentially more expensive hobby.

Edit: Let me put it into perspective for all of you. I bought my two kids 2 expensive gaming machines to primarily play Fortnite (AKA, the worlds most popular game at the moment). One of the machines outperforms the other one in this game. Can you guess which one? I'll give you a hint, it's the cheaper of the 2:

Note: Don't need to hate Alienware lol and yes I know it's cheaper to build yourself but most people don't build their own PC's. I obviously can build my own PC's but my son really looks like "cool" looks of Alienware and I don't blame him cause I kind of like them too.

So why on earth would I suggest my kids to continue PC-gaming, or his friends, or his friends parents for that matter, when he's currently rockin' a keyboard & mouse setup on his Xbox One X and get better graphics & framerates than his PC?
Sorry but Alienware is trash. HORRIBLE value. You're much better off buying from an actual system integrator like ibuypower.

I dislike consoles because they limit my options. They're closed down ecosystems. You can't really do a whole lot on them apart from playing games. They are definitely inferior platforms and that's not gonna change just because they added mouse support, a feature that's been present on PCs since the 1980s.

i used a KB+M on my PS2, in my FF11 on console days. it was dumb they ever removed the support in the first place.

pretty sure that logi-combo was even wireless all the way back in 2006.

I drew the line at the 2080ti and I myself was waiting to upgrade from the 1080ti. Saw that price tag and said let me get a ips 1080p 144hz monitor instead. It's a downgrade from 1440p but the high frames with ips colors makes it okay until AMD drops something reasonable with 2080ti perfomance.
I also chose to skip the 2080Ti. It all worked out in the end, as my 980Ti blew up and my wife needed a new GPU. So I grabbed a radeon VII for myself as a replacement for my 1080Ti, and gave the 1080Ti to her.

Ultimately, I prefer Nvidia's driver stability but the prices for their top end stuff is insane. I think $1,000 is my limit for a GPU, I never thought I'd have to draw that line.

As has been said it's your own fault for choosing style over substance.

Buying out of brand loyalty bad. So you should switch loyalty and buy only based on brand loyalty? That is your message?

This is also not similar to apple.
Samsung flag ship phones also start with 999$ price tag.
LOL fail.

i tried to skip 2080ti, but GeForce Experience lead me on a wild goose chase that ended up in me parting with my 1080tis, and procuring a used 2080ti + 5700XT for troubleshooting.

moral of the story - the source of your problems are probably GFE if its installed. Specially if you can't put your finger on wth is causing said issues.

sold all cards & kept the $850 used EVGA 2080ti. most disappointing flag ship i've ever owned. like 480>>580 disappointing

depends if that information was in the prospectus. if the prospectus included a breakdown of gaming vs mining usage for their cards, and the plantiff can prove nvidia intentionally messed with those numbers, then YES, that's the core of a case.

If nvidia never broke down how many cards were being used for mining in their prospectus, and never made public statements indicating they knew there was a mining bubble, then no- the plantiffs case is done.

Ultimately including information about a mining craze in the prospectus only makes nvidia liable if they can prove nvidia screwed with the numbers they put into the prospectus. the weaker case for the plantiff is if nvidia didn't include details of the mining craze in their prospectus; then they need to prove a bunch of things including that they knew they should have included it in the prospectus, and had numbers in time for publishing of the quarterly prospectus.

i kinda assumed their recent "diversification" was a response to them not properly disclosing the last mining bubble.
