Most likely for people that want to get AMD and dont want to wait until the end of the year for Zen3, they can get faster Zen2 CPU. Mattise 2 is like 3300X and 3100 with OC more for all core. 3950x also has higher single core boost than let say 3700x.

Power consumption is as excpeted. Trying to push that extra 100-200mhz really does come at high heat and power consumption.

Gaming result bar graphs are so marginal, intel really is clingy to that 3-4% gaming lead. That heat though is pretty insane, one would have to game in there underwear just to not die of heat exhaustion.

New socket and still pcie 3.0 also makes these chips feel even more ancient then they are and defeats z390/z370 usefullness. Makes me wonder who really is buying em?

Those processors are hawt.

I have a big bang house. I had all the materials for my new house brought in and dumped on a vacant lot. I took a stick of dynamite, lit the fuse on fire and tossed it into the pile of materials. BOOM went the explosion and when the dust settled I had a new house! Amazing isn't it?

Guru3D's i5 added 100 watts (175 to 280) to get 5.0, and that was all they could get out of it. They didn;t say what liquid cooler they were using, but they were at 80 degrees with the 6/12.

I was hoping to see 5.3 on all cores. It may happen with some good examples but I don't like to play any sort of lottery, not even the silicon one.

That 5.3 is not guaranteed turbo boost, thus very few people will ever achieve it and if they do it will be for seconds at a time only.

Ocean Cove is going to be a monster thanks to Jim Keller. Hopefully AMD has something to release after Zen. If not it's just going to be another K8.
