So a wildly successful architecture that put Intel in its place for ~6+ years? Remember K8 was basically just a lightly modified K7 with an IMC. Each revision K7 > K8 > Phenom 1 > Phenom II was yielding significant IPC and performance increases. The problem is AMD lost basically a year due to delays and a poor process limiting clock speeds on Phenom 1 chips.

AMD isn't sleeping, and they've been consistently delivering large IPC increases. They've already secured many large super computer wins with Zen 3 and Zen 4 chips.

Looking at the reviews here and there and had a thought. The price differece between 10600k i5 and ryzen 5 3600 builds is massive. Its giganic. If you want to buy new pc now its better to get AMD because in same cost you can get decent CPU - ryzen 5 3600 with decent ram and mobo and 2070s instead of just 1660 ti with Intel i5 10600k decent ram mobo and cooler.
They are mad and ill say it, those that will buy 10th gen are stupid. Me having ryzen 5 3600 have nothing to do with my statement. Its 1660 ti vs 2070s on AMD platform in same money for your unit. 1660 ti vs 2070s. +30% on GPU raw performance with cost of 13% lower CPU performance. Never seen dumber pricing before.

Ryzen 5 3600 | ASUS TUF B450 PRO | 2x16 GOODRAM IRDM PRO 3600Mhz DDR4 | MSI VENTUS GTX 1660 Ti | PNY 1TB NVMe SSD | IN WIN 303 | be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER 10 500W

A 10 core without HT at that price would be sweeter.

As usual the 10900K is not in stock anywhere.

what is with these companies and these launches? Do they literally ship out 10 CPUs worldwide every 3 months or something?

i would still get AMD CPU and 2070s instead of i5 and 1660 ti

This pricing is like making lols at all of us. However there is a saying: premium product has to have premium price 😄 problem is that 10600k is just an enthusiast mainstream stuff 😉

sure but a 3800x and 10700k perform similar and in that case a 10700k is better any way it cost the same while it perform better in 97% of the games yeah I dont think you would get a noticeable difference from overclocking still a 10700k should be faster since it could reach higher clock speed but would need better cooling, yeah it lacks of PCIE4.0 but Rocket Lake should have it?

3800x is as dumb as 3600X. Same die bigger price for tiny % gained by higher clocks.
