AMD is saying Big Navi will be a Halo product.. expect it to be a similar one off like the VII or Titan V just to show they have top end card for those who want to spend.

Maybe just one top model with HBM2 and full die, pulled from the enterprise lineup while everything else gets GDDR6 and smaller cores more economic cores.

That's my guess

Better have ROCm support if not it's a useless halo product. Unless it's priced as a RTX 2080.

I would love to support an AMD card but they need to get there encoder performance inline for me to considered that.

Nvidia turning NVENC is highly impressive and if ampere can improve yet on that well.....yah lol

Eh, as long as the price to perf ratio is good, I don't really care how much slower it is than the Ampere cards. If it performs 80% as well for 80% or less of the cost, I'm fine with that.

Or if it releases first. I've been dying to upgrade to an HDMI 2.1 display (either the 48" oled or the 49" Nano85 [edge dimmed IPS 120hz 4K TV]), a few bucks and some perf differences really aren't going to bother me too much if it means I can upgrade my 24" 1440p monitor sooner!

For high end gaming I’m in the same boat. Certainly possible but not certain.
There is a performance level below consoles?

I wouldn't count on it. AMD is perfectly happy to charge high prices if it thinks it can until Nvidia releases something. Radeon VII was $700 wasn't it?

At this point, I am just disgusted at the graphics space right now. My current rig is starting to have problems and $500 gets you a card that can't even match a 1080 Ti from 2016, and the $700 card gets you 1080 Ti performance. Meh. I want better in 2020.

You can get a RTX 2070 Super for $520 which is slightly faster than a GTX 1080 Ti and has many other features. It's a terrible time to upgrade a GPU though since both companies are releasing new cards soon.

Hopefully they can deliver, though the pricing rumors must be discouraging for all those who hoped AMD would swoop in with 2080Ti performance at 1060 prices.

With Consoles about to drop they kind of have to improve on the current price : performance ratio. There will be riots if AMD tries to sell a mid tier big navi that is comparable to consoles for more than the consoles themselves.

I thought the 2080 Super was the one that matched the 1080 Ti (from gaming videos/benchmarks I've seen). Sure added features, but at the end of the day, same performance as a card from 2016. Just going to hold out till new stuff shows up.

Good point. Didn't consider consoles.
