Perhaps my poor English does not allow me to realise why it was concluded that "big-navi" would be launched before XBX / PS5, as he was asked about this in the context of the GPU roadmap and competition from Nvidia.
And can consoles be considered AMD product in this context?
Spoiler!

That's my guess
If AMD is wanting a Halo product, then they'll have to either hit performance feature parity with Nvidia's top end, or have compelling features of their own. I lean red, but if an RX6900XT (or whatever) trades blows with a 3080Ti (or whatever) at a similar price point but lacks features that matter to most users, I don't see many grabbing it over Nvidia's offering.

Good point. Didn't consider consoles.
A RTX 2080 was around ~9% faster than a GTX 1080 Ti, while the RTX 2070 Super is 1-2% faster with many more features.

Your English is fine. From what is stated there isn't a guarantee that big Navi will come out first. The relevant quote would be:
Quote:
This will be our first RDNA 2 base product.
Here people read the word "base" as "based" where, if it were "based" then since the XSX is expected to also be RDNA 2 "based" the big Navi would have to come first.
Since it is "base" and since the XSX isn't a "base" product but a complete system then there is no technical assurance that big Navi will be out before the consoles.

But there is little to gain by making big Navi hopers feel cheated with such a slimy tactic and errors like this are frequent so I think it is just a simple error and the word "based" was meant to be used. But no guarantees on that

Edit: nvm, the source article has the word "based". I should have went with the source instead of a quote. :/

DP2.0, HDMI2.1, $500 for top performance. Otherwise go to hell the same as Ngreedia with their insane pricing.

For sure. Any more and the $600 console is a far better deal. Hopefully we can hack them and install a real OS. Not to game with, as that would incur a horrible performance penalty over native console mode. Just to use as a pc, so you don't need a separate machine. Then when you want to game, boot into original console mode, and have at it. I'm sure the reboot would be like 10 sec or less with the SSD's they are using.
It's be super nice if they could officially support it on one of the two platforms. Would create a big draw to that particular platform over the competition!

Did you know that 20 US states currently have proposed Digital Right to Repair bills which are moving through the system at various stages? Contact your state's representatives and make sure they understand how important our fair use rights are in the digital age! It is extremely unlikely these will ever see a general election.

Weird, every video I've seen of people comparing the two in games doesn't seem to agree with that assessment from a pure FPS standpoint. The 2080 Super definitely had marginally better FPS, but the 2070 Super was usually always behind. Again, marginally, but as the two top cards in Nvidia's current lineup not counting the 2080 Ti since that's on it's own level, it feels like $500-$750 for 2016 top performance in 2020. Sure, new features, absolutely, but you can see where I am coming from in that regard?

Anyway, as long as I don't have some catastrophic escalation of the random game freezes I have started experiencing prompting me to start looking at a new rig, I think I'm content to wait for Big Navi and RTX 3000 and see where we get.

An AMD halo card at 500 or else you'll buy a console? Looking at your nVidia card you sound just like one of those people who want AMD to release a competing product so you can buy a cheaper nVidia.
