You know what causes that? Its that the system requirements they post on the box are extremely inconclusive.

Back in the day when they first started poting those requirements it was great. If they said "60MHz CPU, 4MB graphics card", then they really meant it - and resolutions didn't matter as much, because CRTs can display any of them properly. It wasn't like today, where they say "nVidia 9600gs" and the consumer has no idea if their 8800GTX is better or worse - and on top of that, no idea what resolution the game is going to run at.

PC for first person shooters, strategy and other similar style games...PS3 for sports, racing and other miscellaneous games. All in all...PC gaming dominates!

I agree with you on racing there. Played GRID on PC, and then a bunch of racers on Xbox. It just isn't the same even with a superior game.

I own a PS3 and PC (of course ), and, really, I probably spend about 80% of my gaming time on PC. Lower cost of PC games is always helpful!

I generally stick with exclusives, racers, and shoddy console ports (to PC) on the PS3.

lol, ego-testicle

on topic, pc isn't dead. contrary to that, it's growing. sure not in the way you may think (runescape, dungeons and dragons, and WoW) but if the devs find money there, than they can support other genres on pc too.

Go Away

This is a matter of taste and opinion, but I prefer to play games on their highest settings. Not because i'm a grahpic geek, but because the game just isent that game to me if i have to lower settings.

Console's dont have to question "should this game work on my console?"

PC gamers will never know their real results unless they try or happen to have the same gear as the people who used that to post benchmark statics.

I fooled myself buying a 250€ card would make my games perform alot better.
They do alright, but my cpu is bottlenecking it wich makes it still a poor performance at high settings.
I also invested 50€ on new ram and 80€ on a new PSU.
thats close to 400€, thats the same price for a PS3

and now i still need a new mobo & cpu. this can either be a 100€ investment or a 300€+ one.

So yeah, i could have bought an wi, xbox & ps3 and 100's of games with all the money I invested so far on my pc's.
The money I save per game is probably close to offsetting the cost of upgrading my PC to keep it gaming viable in between console generations. PC gamers pay $50 for a brand-new, premium title. Console gamers pay $60. If you get a lot of games, that adds up quickly.

And a computer enthusiast shouldn't just upgrade because they want to play games - it's a hobby in and of itself. I don't upgrade my computer because I need to play games at a certain setting, I upgrade/build my computer because I like having a reasonably fast machine that is a joy to work on and really and truly my own. I value my consoles about as much as I value my DVD player. They're a means to an end. My computer is really and truly mine.

Dusted.
