Google doing what they are good at

~Panaramio~

Be honest, behind the facade of those things, the real priority is just screwing everyone over in the name of obscene profit & delaying any kind of backlash as long as possible. That's the real world.

Update (added to the OP):

[Ars] Senators to Google: Why didn’t you disclose Google+ vulnerability sooner?

Quote:
Three United States senators have demanded that Google provide answers about its recent disclosure of a security breach in its Google+ social network that led to its closure. Google only came forward after the Wall Street Journal broke the story on October 8.

So far, one federal proposed class-action lawsuit has been filed in the wake of the episode.

(...)

Quote:
Please describe in detail when and how Google became aware of this vulnerability and what actions Google took to remedy it.

Why did Google choose not to disclose the vulnerability, including to the Committee or to the public, until many months after it was discovered?

Are there similar incidents which have not been publicly disclosed?

Please provide a copy of Google's internal memo cited in the WSJ article.
Given their active stance on Project Zero, exposing other companies' bugs, it will be interesting to see how Google responds (they have until Oct 30).

I use G+ a lot, it's a great tool for all sorts of things, if you do a search in G+, you can find about almost anything and everything.

Looks like I'll be serving a discord server or of some sorts for all my G+ friends and I, wha a pitty, hope G= doesn't close, it's a great app.

Makes for an interesting read, one ex-insider's view of Google+:

Now that Google+ has been shuttered, I should air my dirty laundry on how awful the project and exec team was

Compiled version of that Twitter thread

Playin' the lead roll in a dwerg tossing contest...

Nice, My time settings were wrong so trying to find where they hide them now I found that the setting to allow google to listen to my voicemails to "check transcription" was changed to the on position. Thats nice they can listen to all my voicemails. I am joining that suit, they have just crossed a line, I specifically set all those settings to off. And too boot I cannot find the setting to change the timezone to the correct position as its not where it is supposed to be.

Added: where did the link to the suit go?
