As I was not so known with what nView is, I Searched it up and found this:
“NVIDIA nView is a Desktop Management Software for NVIDIA NVS and NVIDIA Quadro products. nView delivers a range of tools & functions that enables users to efficiently manage their system’s single or multi monitor workspace as well as accelerate the navigation through their system’s information. nView is also available as part of the display driver package. Use this standalone version if you need to update nView independently, without updating the NVIDIA Display Driver.”

https://www.nvidia.com/object/nview-...34-driver.html

Checked release notes on some older drivers, and it was part of those drivers as well. Not sure exactly what it does, since there is no settings to change or any active service running called nView. Perhaps more settings for those running Quadro?

Here are the release notes if someone has more time to dig in: https://us.download.nvidia.com/Windo...ease-notes.pdf

Think there was some temporary issues where they decided to disable it. They have done so before as well hehe

I wonder if the flickering in the Witcher 3 is resolved from the previous driver.

Yea, I've seen nview in quadro drivers before and thought it was exclusively for them. I figured it was so that businesses with multi monitor setups would have to buy quadros for the best support. Maybe windows 10 multi monitor support has gotten good enough to largely obviate it and they are trying to get some use out of it by tossing it in with geforce. Or maybe like you said: for quadro users running geforce drivers, if that is a thing.
Just seemed like an out of place freebie from Nvidia. It is a standalone thing if I remember right. I picked up a $30 kepler based quadro a couple years back to see if geforce drivers were holding back my tv's supposed 10 bit capabilities and mostly learned how geforce and quadro don't get along very well together.

Maybe it is a goof in the notes.

Think it might have begun for Quadro only, however it seems to have been part of Geforce drivers a long while as well. Found some release notes for over 1year old drivers and it was present there as well. But no settings or anything that I have ever seen for it.

Edit: "mostly learned how geforce and quadro don't get along very well together." Care to elaborate? Do not have much experience with their professional series, and this got me curious!

nView used to be NVIDIA's go to multi-monitor manager in the days before OSes had decent support for it. I remember it being in the original Detonator drivers in the very late 1990s.

I don't think they ever removed it, even though I haven't seen it used in more than a decade.

nView predates the Quadro brand by several years.

No further gimping with this driver.
Just the 100 points on graphic score lost on the 411.63 which is nothing really.

Scores are relative. 100 points lost from 1000 points originally is 10% loss. It's better to look up driver benchmarks with multiple games, some people do this once a month and post results.
