So, you have no qualms at all about using this site while denying them any source of revenue to pay for running the site? Do you realize that if everyone did that, this site would either disappear or only be available only to those willing pay a subscription fee (more likely, it just wouldn't exist)? In fact, the revenue model for probably 90% of the web would be busted entirely.

lmao really? Try not to fall off that horse so high.

I haven't used Firefox for years, but I will be 100% Firefox once this happens. How much is Google protecting its ad business, really though if it loses 20% of browser share practically overnight?

Yeah, I installed Brave the other day when it was suggested by someone in this thread and replaced Chrome as my default OS with it. I'm not sure its any better than Chrome tbh (because I haven't really looked into it yet) but its at least just as good.

It's also nice that it's being developed by such competent people.

The ad attention feature that is coming soon is also super neat. Curated, targeted ads that don't compromise security and privacy and allow you to still support the sites you frequent is the best compromise I've seen from any paradigm.

I really don't understand why people defect to Brave instead of Firefox.

To big to fail, To big to go unregulated

This is a prime example of why big tech (amazon) (Google) (Social media) needs to be held to a standard that serves the people. When any entity has such sway on what, who, and where people are forced to see, do, or hear it has got to big and will I repeat will take advantage of its power because that is what it is power OVER THE PEOPLE

Brave is, almost inescapably, closer to Chrome than Firefox is. It's not surprising to see Chrome users preferring Brave. Not to say that Firefox wouldn't do the job just as well, but that's not the point.

It is so close it is based on Chromium, aims to make ads its main funding and cloned Chrome's interface.

Exactly! The only difference is the level of control over ads after the (alleged) update for Chrome, which is the main reason people are even considering switching.
