The store is accessible not just on Win10. If you're not on Win10 you're on Linux or you're nuts.

You can also direct download the APPX file and install it in developer mode...

No one sane will use these "stores" with all their fees, limitations, etc.

R20 has minimum test duration in it's preferences, maybe it can loop itself.

It runs standalone no problem and 7zipped it's around 147MB, mostly because the scene is 160MB huge in R20.
Sure let's not give non-tech savvy people a place to safely install apps without having to worry about installing adware/malware when they click the first google link they see. It's not like Linux distros have had stores which people can easily install software for over a decade. Oh wait...

Yeah, if it was Intel bias, there is absolutely no way my stock 3.2GHz 6c/12t AMD CPU would score just under half what a 5GHz 8c/16t Intel CPU scores. It would be much lower.

If you think that the MS Store, Google Play or App Store are anything alike to any Linux distro repository or store you're beyond saving. Honest.

Please educate me on how they're so different? I'd love to hear it from the person who thought the only way to use multiple GPUs in a machine for research was SLI/CrossFire.

A safe sandbox sounds quite safe to me.

These app stores are made for millions of average Joes who just want to use their computer without having to worry about ransomware.

You should only download things from places where you are aware of the level of risk, meaning, inform yourself and see what the community trusts. At the end of the day human relations will always be based on the concept of trust; this was true twenty years ago on the Internet and it's true now. You should never trade ignorance for convenience, or you might end up with the worst of both worlds: a walled garden and malware:

The truth is, there is no reason for Microsoft to require non Windows 10 users to create an account on their store in order to download a free benchmark. You can download all the Windows updates for several versions of Windows from the Update Catalog site and there are no such shenanigans.

What is trash about it??? I've been running Cinebench for years and years and never once have I ever bothered to evaluate the freaking image that is being rendered lol! The whole purpose (for me anyway) is simply to test my hardware; I couldn't give a fig about what the picture is or if its a "Lame" image. I mean, seriously!

The problem is that there is a subset of absolutely hysterically paranoid people around here that think "The Authority" is constantly trying to spy on their precious and oh-so-important personal lives. Regular people just appreciate the simplicity and ease of use that comes with using Win10 normally, without feverishly and exhaustively attempting to keep their super-secret identities a out of the hands of "Evil M$" who are obviously determined to figure out what amazing secrets you have hiding on your home gaming PC. Unless you are some kind of celebrity or politician or are important in some other kind of way that would make you a legitimate target, your data doesn't matter to anyone, other than to these companies who just want to figure out ways to sell you stuff (or more realistically, to customize your experiences on their products).

So Evil!!!!

Thanks for standalone version provided by TPU. Microsoft Store says I do not have 4 GB RAM to meet system requirements even though I have 16 GB and even though Windows reads 16 GB everywhere. Ehh...

Unfortunately, Maxon has made a legal threat against Guru3D.com and is forcing us to take the Cinebench R20 download offline.

Maxon Computer GmBh will only allow the download of Cinebench R20 through UWP (Microsoft Store). Though we strongly feel that this is a community tool which belongs in the public domain we obviously totally need to respect what the publisher deems appropriate for them. It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is.

Heh. I just tried it and don't know whether to be happy or sad that it shows my 3.9ghz cpu as running at 3.1ghz.

I just tried it on Linux using Wine and it runs fine (except the UI text looks crappy). I used the version of Wine that's in the Steam client. The CPU here is a crappy i5-3570k @ 4.7GHz, and the score was 1467:
