Betweeen Borderlands 2 and 3 gpus have gotten 5x as fast. Going by the videos on this thread, the destruction minus PhysX has gotten worse over that time. Could you imagine 5x the destruction effects of B2? That would be an experience. Instead we get 5x the selfie quality. PhysX would be great here.

PhysX would also be great in the AC Odyssey I'm currently playing to render the flames and clouds that crush my 1080ti.

You have to remember the hardware PhysX ran off of. My discrete 23w, pciex1, fanless gt 730 that is about as fast as an intel igpu makes my 1080ti the bottleneck in any PhysX containing game I've tried. Sure it penalizes a Kepler single gpu that can only do 1 thing at a time, or an already heavily loaded cpu, but a discrete PhysX card handles it well. You're hoping for chiplets? PhysX runs with chiplets. RTX probably does too. They should make Ampere like that, with rasterizer core and an RTX and a PhysX chiplet.

Can't lie, it was as ton of fun running through BL2 w/ a titan dedicated to physX

i think you misunderstood me. Everyone complains about physX, but I've pretty much always been an NV user so I've always loved its implementations. However, i find it hard to believe that an ancient dedicated PhysX card is going to help you in any way, unless you're playing ancient titles too.
i agree, the fire in asscreed is so poorly optimized. Looking at the torch will tank pretty much anything.

i mean, you could always go play on a console... but I'll take doing business with EPIC over a console, at least for now.

I supose I did. I still think a fun with mayhem game could use some spontaneously interactive destruction physx. The promo for this one makes it look like it will be pretty vapid with the effects and rely heavily on cutscenes to make up the difference.

And that ancient dedicated card is still more than adequate for FO4, and was for W3 before the update came and whacked my framerate due to my 4770k no longer being able to keep up because it was forced to run physx. But I would upgrade it if there was a benefit.

that's funny, I have generations of that dinky little thing, all the way back to it having 4 fermi cores. All inherited from retired OEM enterprise towers.

21:9 + 1080 Ti. Kinda sucks, consoles just don't do anything for me.

Not always.
The best example is first two tomb raider games, which had huge problems with nvidia until the developer fixed the problems.
